A Fixture in the Frederick Business Community for 53 Years
Dick Beckley opened his shop in the brand-new Frederick Towne Mall in 1972. It was the second barbershop opened by Mr. Beckley in Frederick. In December of 2005, after 40 years of barbering in Frederick, Mr. Beckley retired. The barber shops Gentlemen's Choice and Gentlemen's Choice II were turned over to Dennis Culler and John Stillrich, their respective managers, separated into two businesses, and were no longer affiliated.
In July 2006, we relocated to our present location of 1219 B West Patrick on the Golden Mile, behind Denny's restaurant. Then, in April 2019, the shop was purchased by longtime employees Amanda Blumenauer and Kevin Fogg. We currently have 9 Barbers and Cosmetologists on staff that can handle anything from a kid’s haircut to a wash and set. We have become a versatile shop for not only “gentlemen” but the entire family. We thank you for your many years of patronage, and look forward to many more!
